Drive Belt
A drive belt is a single, continuous belt used to drive multiple peripheral devices in an automotive engine, such as an alternator, power steering pump, water pump, air conditioning compressor, air pump, etc
It is often beneficial to change the drive belts in your car approximately every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. By undergoing annual car inspections, you can have your drive belts evaluated. If any signs of damage or severe wear and tear are identified, the belts can be replaced.
Here are some signs indicating that your drive belt needs replacement:
- Squealing noise from the front of your car
- The power steering stops working
- The air conditioning stops working
- Engine overheats
- Cracking on the belt
